Locations and Developments
The Growing Nations project started in the remote village of Tebellong in the mountains in the South of Lesotho. Local farmers were trained in Conservation Agriculture (CA) techniques and they themselves went out into the surrounding areas to train others. Over 2000 farmers have been trained by Growing Nations in Lesotho and training has also been carried out in other African countries.

The site at Tebellong is however limited by its location and the LEC have recently leased a new site at Maphutseng for the development of a new training centre for Growing Nations. This site is more accessible and will enable farmers from all over Lesotho to be trained there. The plan is to provide accommodation, practical training, agricultural and business education and support for the farmers as they return to their communities.
